Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship

Round 1: Wyedean Rally, 11 February

Shaun Gardener and Ben Innes scored maximum points on the opening round of the 2012 MSA Welsh Rally Championship, the Wyedean Rally, after a remarkable day’s competition in the Forest of Dean.

Gardener and Innes were surprised to take a maximum points haul with second place overall, having hit a tree after sliding off the road on SS6.

Roger Chilman and Bryan Thomas claimed fifth overall in their Subaru WRC after running as low as 30th on the first stage, while Paul Davy and Roger Allan took Group N honours and sixth overall in their recently rebuilt Subaru N4.
